Political Theory: Historical Foundations (Vol. 1) aims to introduce undergraduate students of International Relations at Marmara University to political science theory, with a particular focus on the emergence and development of democratic political theory. Recognising that there is no single, definitive theory in the social sciences, the book traces the historical roots of democratic thought back to ancient and medieval Europe, noting its status as a universal value in the modern era.
